Schools enrolled in the Smart Families program will receive classroom presentations, but the conversations do not need to end there! Here you will find overviews of each of our in-school presentations: what each session covers and why it matters.
Parents and teachers can keep the conversation going by using our downloadable resources to reinforce each lesson. The more children learn, the better they will be able to make smart decisions.
THE APP TRAP
The App Trap helps students understand how today’s most popular social media apps affect their brains, attention, and emotional health. Through clear, age-appropriate neuroscience, this presentation explains how many platforms are intentionally designed to capture attention and encourage compulsive use. Students learn how these design choices can shape habits, mood, and self-image—and gain practical insight into how to use technology more thoughtfully, confidently, and responsibly as their brains continue to develop.

Unfollow Me is a student presentation, tailored to each developmental stage, that helps students navigate technology in a thoughtful and reflective way. It emphasizes personal dignity and self-worth, connects basic brain development to healthy decision-making, and explains how technology—while a powerful and useful tool—is often designed in ways that can work against our well-being. The presentation includes practical tips, online safety guidance, and encourages reflection and intentional habits as tools for using technology wisely.
FOLLOW ME
Follow Me is a student presentation, tailored to each developmental stage, that explores navigating technology through the lens of faith. It highlights our God-given dignity, connects basic brain development to God’s plan for our lives, and explains how technology—while a useful tool—is often designed in a way that negatively affects our development and goals. The presentation includes practical tips, online safety guidance, and encourages prayer as an aid to navigate technology wisely.
